About Us

Our mission is to provide you with top quality wild salmon that is sustainably harvested from the Cook Inlet waters in Alaska. Our fish go from the net directly to chilled ice/water in our boat’s fish hold, and are brought from our boat to our processor in Kenai, for immediate processing to assure freshness. Our process from net to freezer is done in hours, not days, which assures a top-quality product.

Our family lives in Anchor Point, Alaska, on the Kenai Peninsula next to the Cook Inlet.

We are commercial fishermen who hold a Direct Marketer permit from the State of Alaska, which allows us to sell our own salmon. After our fishing seasons ends, we work on marketing and selling our fresh-frozen salmon to customers like you!  We hope you enjoy and appreciate our fish as much as we appreciate the opportunity to provide them for you!

James Price, Captain

James has commercial fished for wild salmon in the Cook Inlet for over 30 years. Early on, he processed fish at a local facility on the Kenai Peninsula. He brings the experience our crew needs to find the best fishing spots, and ensures our boat and gear run well and efficiently, which is essential in our fast-paced and relatively short season fishery!

Tara Kain, Deckhand

Tara, James' wife, has commercial fished since 2024. Previously, she owned and operated Anchor Point Natural Foods in Anchor Point and Homer, Alaska, where she sold local seafood including wild salmon. Prior to that, she founded and operated DogFriendly.com, a popular pet travel website. Tara built and maintains the Cook Inlet Seafood website and social media sites.

Jack Kain, Deckhand

Jack, Tara's son, has commercial fished since 2024. He grew up in Anchor Point, Alaska, and worked at a local grocery store during high school. Jack is attending college out-of-state and has fished with us the past two summers. He does much of the heavy lifting and excels at removing fish quickly from our net.
